Chen Zhi is an associate professor in the Department of Chinese Vocal Music Education of the Shenyang Conservatory of Music, a member of the National Vocality and Art Institution of China and the Liaoning Musicians’ Association, and a recognized ‘top talent among young and middle-aged music performers’ in the Conservatory. She studied under the tutelage of the famous tenor, vocal music teacher and supervisor on the doctorate programme, Professor Liu Hui. In the 13th, 14th and 15th All China Young Singers Television Competition presented by CCTV, she won two 2nd prizes and one 3rd Prize in the Ethnic Category of the Liaoning Region. Then in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th All China Folk Singing Competition for Tertiary Institutions of the Arts, she won the 1st Prize twice, and the 3rd Prize once in the Teachers’ Category of the Shenyang Region. She gave a highly successful solo recital in 2013. The MV she made in 2016, How Can I Forget You, came second at the Accreditation of Outstanding MV Works, which was one of the activities organized by the Liaoning Province to commemorate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party in China. In the same year, she won the 1st prize in the Teachers’ Category at the 5th National Showcase of Chinese Vocal Music for Tertiary Institutions of the Arts in China.
