Wang Qi

Wang Qi currently serves as a council member of the Sheng Committee of the BeijingMusical Instrument Association and is a member of the Heyun Sheng Ensemble.Deeply committed to artistic practice, he was recognized as an outstanding instructorand performer at the National Centre for the Performing Arts’ "Art in Life"experience camp. From 2020 to 2025, he served as a resident performer for theNational Centre for the Performing Arts’ Art Salon, demonstrating a strong stagepresence.


In the realms of musical creation and promotion, Wang Qi actively advances thedigital development of sheng music. He participated in the release of the albumPoetry and Music of China and released solo albums such as JS Bach 1004 and ReedJade on platforms including Apple Music, showcasing a performance style that blendstraditional foundations with a contemporary artistic perspective.


His outstanding artistry has earned him numerous awards across various competitions.These include the Best Performance Award in Group A (Professional Youth WindInstruments) at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s inaugural "This Is Our Melody"and "Virtue and Talent" showcases; the Outstanding Performance Award at the 2ndNational Professional Music Conservatories’ "Talent Excellence Program"; the GoldAward in Group A (Professional Youth Wind & Percussion) at the 6 th Dunhuang CupBeijing International Chinese Instrumental Music Competition; and the Gold Awardin Category A1 at the 2026 International Sheng and Reeds Festival – Competition forProfessional Sheng Performance.
